Florida College Grants Programs
Florida residents access Bright Futures merit scholarships, Florida Student Assistance Grants, and federal Pell Grants. The Office of Student Financial Assistance administers state aid programs.
Florida Bright Futures Scholarship
Bright Futures is one of the nation's largest state merit scholarship programs, serving over 100,000 students annually.
What it provides: Merit-based scholarship covering 75–100% of tuition at Florida public institutions
Assistance: 75–100% of tuition and applicable fees at Florida public institutions.
Eligibility: Florida Academic Scholars: 100% tuition + stipend; Florida Medallion Scholars: 75% tuition.
Who may qualify:
- Florida high school graduates meeting GPA and test score requirements
- Students enrolling in Florida public universities or colleges
- Florida residents who completed required service hours
Requirements:
- Florida Financial Aid Application by graduation
- Minimum GPA (3.0 Academic, 2.75 Medallion)
- SAT/ACT scores or equivalent
- 100 service hours

Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG)
FSAG supplements federal aid for Florida students attending state colleges, universities, and private institutions.
What it provides: Need-based grant for undergraduate Florida residents
Assistance: Grant amounts vary by institution and available funding; typically $200–$2,610 per year.
Eligibility: Must have EFC demonstrating need; enrolled at least half-time.
Who may qualify:
- Florida residents with demonstrated financial need
- Undergraduates at eligible Florida colleges and universities
- Students not receiving sufficient other aid
