Assistance: Improved access to term loans and lines of credit at market rates through partner banks.
Eligibility: Loan amounts from $50,000 to $2.5 million; guarantee covers up to 80% of loan loss.

California Competes is one of the state's primary economic development tools. Applications are scored competitively each funding round.
What it provides: Negotiated income tax credits for businesses expanding or relocating in California
Assistance: Tax credits ranging from $20,000 to millions over multiple years, applied against state income tax.
Eligibility: Credits allocated in competitive rounds; awards based on jobs created, wages, and economic impact.
Who may qualify:

- Companies in competitive industries considering out-of-state moves
- Businesses of any size meeting minimum job and investment thresholds

SBA 7(a) Loan Program (California District Offices)
